Our department's response to the new coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic

The Department has implemented infection prevention measures in compliance with the regulations of Okayama University Hospital(https://www.okayama-u.ac.jp/user/hospital/news/detail234.html) , and has established a system that allows patients to visit the department when necessary with peace of mind.
At present, we continue to provide the same basic medical services as before in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical services, and are providing the stable services required of a university hospital.
Diseases that require surgery do not wait. If you are considering a visit to our department, please consult with us at any time as in normal times.

General Thoracic Surgery

The respiratory group is a leader in lung transplantation in Japan and treats a wide range of chest diseases including lung cancer, pleural mesothelioma, metastatic lung tumors, pneumothorax, mediastinal tumors, myasthenia gravis (surgical treatment), and other diseases for which lung transplantation is indicated. Taking advantage of the characteristics of a university, we also perform gene analysis, which is a hot topic these days, with the approval of the Ethics Committee if the patient agrees to it.

Breast and Endocrinological Surgery

Breast and Endocrinological Surgery

The Breast and Endocrine Group practices team medicine and EBM-based treatment, and Okayama University is currently an accredited facility of the Japanese Breast Cancer Association. In breast cancer, we are mainly engaged in surgical treatment and treatment of recurrent breast cancer in clinical practice, and in basic research on elucidation of new prognostic factors, mechanisms of action of molecular targeted therapy, and resistance to anticancer drugs and hormonal agents.
