Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine Department of General Thoracic Surgery and Breast and Endocrinological Surgery

 The Breast and Endocrine Group provides team medicine and EBM-based treatment, and Okayama University is currently an accredited facility of the Japanese Breast Cancer Association. In breast cancer, our clinical research focuses mainly on surgical therapy and treatment of recurrent breast cancer, while our basic research includes elucidation of new prognostic factors, mechanisms of action of molecular targeted therapy, and resistance to anticancer drugs and hormonal agents. In our Breast Cancer Treatment and Reconstruction Center, breast specialists and plastic surgeons work together to perform breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction in an integrated manner.　We strive to minimize the cosmetic sacrifices made by surgery and provide medical care that satisfies our patients. We have also established the Setouchi Breast Project Comprehensive Support (SBP-CS) Office to provide comprehensive operational and financial support for breast cancer-related projects in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, thereby contributing to the development of regional medical care and the maintenance and promotion of the health of local citizens.

 In 2006, the Endocrine Center was established to diagnose and treat endocrine disorders and is staffed by specialists from the Department of Endocrine Surgery and the Department of Endocrinology.
